Today serves as a reminder of what happens when unbridled hatred and #Islamophobia is allowed to fester in media and political discourse.
Islamophobia has dramatically increased in Australia over the last two years.
There has been a long list of recorded Islamophobic attacks and threats made to Muslims just going about their everyday lives. And these are typically only the more extreme cases that are actually reported.
And yet, there has been no significant response from our government to protect and stand with the Muslim community of Australia.
Instead, they continue to push hate-driven speech and racist policies.
Enough is enough.
We can`t sit by and allow another Christchurch-style massacre to happen again.
We honour the lives unnecessarily lost, and we send our support and solidarity to their loved ones who continue to carry the burden of grief.
